Hearty Chili Lentil Bowl

A protein-packed, fiber-rich meal featuring chili beans, green lentils, cheddar cheese, and savory beef tri tip.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dennison’s chili beans
  • 1 cup cooked green lentils (boiled)
  • 1 oz cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz beef tri tip

Instructions

  1. Heat the Beans and Lentils:
    In a medium saucepan, combine the chili beans and cooked lentils. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until warmed through (about 5 minutes).
  2. Prepare the Beef:
    If your beef tri tip is not cooked, season lightly with salt and pepper. Grill or sear in a hot skillet for 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), then let rest and slice thinly.
  3. Assemble the Bowl:
    Divide the heated beans and lentils into a serving bowl. Top with sliced beef tri tip.
  4. Add Cheese:
    Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Let it melt slightly from the heat of the other ingredients.
  5. Serve:
    Enjoy hot as a hearty, balanced meal.
