The perfect pen does not exist. Here are some pretty good ones.
- Zebra Sarasa Grand in black green. It’s a great pen if you like green ink. They make these in a lot of weird colors. I also have one in “camel”. it’s built well, has a great clip, looks great on a desk.
- Uniball Jetstream 4 + 1 in Metal. Mine is a dark green body. Jetstream ink is great, but the fine point on this is not my favorite. It is 4 pens in 1 + a mechanical pencil. It has Black, Blue, Red, and Green inks. It’s not much bigger than a normal pen. It is a little bit chunky tho. The pen’s barrel is metal but the upper half is plastic. It has a metal clip and metal eraser cover.
- Fisher Space Pen – I have the bullet in Black. It writes like crap. The ink is extremely thick, but it always writes and writes on anything. It will write in zero gravity, hot or frozen environments. The cartridge is pressurized, and is said to not dry out for up to 100 years. This is a pen for the end of the world.
- Jetstream 1.0 – This Uniball Jetstream is just a plastic click pen. I love the Jetstream ink. This click pen is cheap but nice and light weight, well built.
- Zebra G-750: Costs $11 and uses an incredible gel ink. The pen is mostly metal but the threads in the barrel are plastic.
- The Rotring 600 – mine is in pear white and I may have been too quick to judge it. It is all metal tip to clip. The fact that it is all metal and accepts any Parker g2 refill means it’s versatile and will have a very long service life.
