This $20 Watch Is Still Out Performing Itself

This is my favorite watch and the one I wear pretty much every day. It’s cheap, rugged, and has lost 1 min in 2 years of wear. It has a ten year battery, and a warm backlight, which is actually the reason I wear it. I also like that the display is all black, and that it’s not connected to the internet. Things that outperform their cost and are stupid simple tools are my favorites.

Virtually anyone in the world can afford a Casio, and it tells time remarkably well. Casio says that it should lose or gain up to 12 min over two years. Maybe I just got a good one, who knows.

I have a couple of nicer watches, nothing crazy, and I’m not the kind of guy that buys watches or anything really as a status symbol, but I wear this one every day because it’s comfortable, easy to read, and just works. The display is huge, but because it’s made with plastic, it’s actually very light weight which makes it more comfortable to wear than some of the steel watches I have.

Overall I’m very pleased with this watch, it’s 90% of a g-shock for 1/3 the price of their cheapest models. It is more accurate than many costlier watches, and is extremely comfortable and light to wear. At $20 it doesn’t matter if I break it, scratch it, lose it, get paint or something else on it while working in the yard, and it’s reliable. It just works! I love that.
