I can now dead hang for over 20 seconds. When I first attempted a hang anything over 3-5 felt unbearable. I think it was the “around the world’s” I’ve been doing with the 70lb kettle bell that strengthened my forearms and wrists to be able to hang.
The Dead Hang is the first step to doing a pull-up, something I’ve never done, and look forward to completing soon. Pull-ups are essential for upper body strength, and are a good sign of overall physical fitness.
I went from being able to hang just momentarily to over 20 seconds without any steps in between, I quit trying to hang because it felt like my body was being ripped apart. I tried it again yesterday and was pretty surprised.
The bad news is I tried pulling up, and now my shoulder is sore, so we’ll let it heal, hang some more and try again.
