The DJI Osmo Action 6 is the most usable edc camera I’ve ever owned. The stabilization and ability to pair a mic makes it so easy to record video. It fits in my pocket and isn’t fragile, you can sweat on it, cover it in pocket lint and sand, if you scratch the lens, get a new one, they’re $29.
Replaceable batteries make sure this thing can go the long haul, my guess is it could last 15-20 years. It shoots 8k video, who could need more than that? So many modes, from 8mm ultrawide to 20mm vlogging mode.
The trade offs are that the sensor is small, and the video quality will never match a full frame camera, but it is better than a cellphone and it’s cheaper than a phone, and isn’t also you’re everything – if you use your phone as your main camera, the storage fills up, you drain your battery, dropping a flagship phone can be a $1700 problem.
Phones are high theft items, they’re also shaped like a thick slice of cheese, they’re uncomfortable to hold. This thing also has rapid charging so I can charge the battery up from 50% to 80% in a few minutes. 15 or 20?.
Image quality is off the charts compared to a cellphone, especially in low light.
Anyway I’m in love.
