An Update On Electrified Shaving

I used to use a double edge safety razor. It works fine, but isn’t very fast, and requires a lather and a lot of extra water.

I thought I’d try using an electric and at first I wasn’t that impressed. The one blade promised to not shave to close, and that was a very true marketing claim. However it still irritated my skin.

So I tried the Braun. This is their mid grade shaver and tbh I actually like it. It uses foils instead of rotary blades, and I did also get the power station with it for cleaning out the razor head. This keeps the blade system lubricated and protected from corrosion.

I was shaving every day initially, but over time I stopped, and that’s what the Andis clipper is for. Trimming my beard down when I’ve let it go too far.

I love the Andis clipper. I’ve had it since the Plandemic. it works great but doesn’t cut too close.

I have also used the Braun razor with shave soap, and that’s where it really shines, but it’s about as much work as using a real razor.

Here’s my ranking:

Quickest shave: Braun S7, dry

Best shave: Braun s7, wet

Best for grooming / touchups: One Blade

Best for many days growth: Andis

Best overall shave: Cremo razor

Best Budget Shave: Can’t beat a single blade razor, also the most comfortable – it shaves closes but without irritation, no rattling or vibration – but most likely to cause a cut.
