The Uniball One P in 0.38 Is Actually Pretty Good

The Uniball One – P(ocket)

As much as I like things built to last. This $6 pen is awesome. Comes in their new “one” gel ink. It comes in the size range of 0.38-0.7 – Sure the body is plastic and feels 3d printed, but the pen is short, so it fits in a pocket and you don’t even notice it. I have noticed that even though I prefer old school materials like steel, aluminum, brass, or even wood, a plastic pen like this is unusually light weight, and since I am a bit of a pocket stuffer, the lighter items end up getting carried more often – even if they aren’t my favorite. Also for $6 it doesn’t matter if you lose it or scuff it up. This ain’t a Mont Blanc!

Thankfully they made this pen chubby so it’s easy to grip, comfortable to write with, and a great daily driver. They also put a nice spring clip on it that lets it clamp on to things that are pretty thick without getting all bent out of shape.

Peep that spring clip action

I do like the ink as well. It’s dark, flows nicely, and doesn’t smudge after a few seconds.
